Love Hope Strength

The Love Hope Strength Foundation (LHSF) is the first ever international, music-centric cancer charity dedicated to reaching new heights—literally—in order to provide support for cancer centers and bring inspiration throughout the world to those affected by the disease. Founded in 2007 by cancer survivors James Chippendale and Mike Peters of the Welsh rock band The Alarm, LHSF is now one of the fastest growing cancer foundations in the world, having performed 26 events on six continents in just three years.
Joining the Love Hope Strength Army in the battle against cancer are musicians from every corner of the globe, including members of Squeeze, The Cult, The Fixx, Stray Cats Gin Blossoms and hundreds more, all doing their part to help spread the word through music. These pioneers trek to remote venues such as the base camp of Everest, the top of The Empire State Building, Pikes Peak, Mount Kilimanjaro and the Inca ruins of Machu Picchu, putting on concerts at incredible elevations in order to purchase life saving equipment, add people to the global bone marrow list and promote early detection for cancer treatment.
In 2009 LHS conducted over 80 bone marrow drives at music festivals and concerts around the US, including Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, Mile High Music Festival and Red Rocks Amphitheater, in order to add more names to the national bone marrow registry. Their efforts have translated into 5000 new donors, 25 matches and lives saved.
